Boomer was discovered at the age of 6, washed up and unconscious on the shores of lake Washington in Seattle.

Waking a few days later with no knowledge of his past Boomer finds himself now struggling to survive on the seedy streets of Seattle.

Finding his nursemaids happens to be a pair of street kids of no more than aged 9 or 10 who explain how they chanced upon finding him on the shores in a bad way.

When he is feeling well enough the kids help Boomer back to their street commune. Over the next few weeks he learns the necessary skills required in order to survive the cold hard streets. This day marked the start of life as a small time street gang rat.

That was about 10 years ago, Boomer now aged approx 16. Coming of age at 11 he proved himself sufficiently skilled enough to persuade the communes council elders to deem him ready to undergo the ritual deep resonance. Since that moment Boomer has suffered terribly from flashbacks.

Returning to the commune after plying his formidable computer skills for the benefit of earning much needed medicine in return found the safe surrounds he had grown to call his home still smouldering and the bodies of his fellows scattered, burnt and dismembered all around. Fearing that those responsible may still be close Boomer, with one last look around, quickly scooped up what meeger possessions he could and ran.

That was five weeks ago now. Boomer spent that time laying low, only resurfacing when totally necessary to scavenge for needed food and to begin to attempt to piece together snippets of rumors which, he hoped, would lead to some way of discovering who was responsible for the commune attack along with why it happened.

Always keeping slightly at the back of his mind the possibility of commune survivers being still out their like himself...

GM Update (can be modified, requires approval):

A human (at first glance) came around a corner from a walk and noticed Boomer. The human noted that he had two datajacks, but carried no gear. The human's first impression was that he had gotten mugged, but he showed no signes of being beaten or even getting knocked down. Now that Boomer could see his face he could see that he wasn't human at all, but an elf. Boomer noted his black hair was covering his pointed ears well enough that he could easily pass for human.

"What?" asked Boomer, sitting on the cold cement of the sidewalk, leaning against the abandoned building near the alley entrance to his make-shift hidding spot.

The elf stopped walking and took a moment to answer Thoughts he had produced a look of pain on his face as he stared off into nothing far too long.

Boomer interrupted his thoughts. "You okay mister? Best get inside. Not safe here."

He shook his head to clear out the current thoughts so he could answer. "What do you mean?" he asked.

"Your in Red Devil territory. Tryin' to get yourself killed? You need to get off the street, right now."

"You know a place?" He asked after realizing his mistake.

Boomer guided him to a small, makeshift door placed in what used to be a window. Both of them went through it. It was in this small room that the elf introduced himself as Icarus. Boomer followed by introducing hemself.

The two elves sat in the quiet darkness of the small room for a few hours, talking about their past a bit [GM: both characters need to decide exactly what was revealed] and the upstart Red Devils and their quick grab of four square blocks from the (apparently) weaker Black Killers, whom they wiped out. Finally, just before dawn, Icarus got up and said goodby to his new friend. Boomer made it absolutely clear that he was to be contacted only through the Matrix (for now), which address he passed along to his new friend who didn't judge him at all, not like most of the adults he had run across.

Boomer has managed to "deck" for a group that his Ms. Johnson discovered for him just a few short weeks ago. They seem to work well together and have managed to succeed where others have not. This all happened right after he met, and made friends with Icarus, a former gang member that had just recently lost his entire gang in a bloody, one-sided battle.

That group, though unusual, consisted of himself, Icarus, Jack Knife, Lady Links, Nephthys and Rhonda Templeton. He knew none of their real names and he liked it that way.

Later, in late November the six of them went on a run that required the capture on an executive and a long wait in a safe house while certain negotiations happened for his release. The ransom was paid after a day or two and the exec was released in an alley where he could be found after a short time. Lady Links had to knock out the exec after he tried to escape during the course of the run. He didn't make it past the spot she was sitting at. The only damage done to anyone was a boredom. They were each paid well.

The group went on two additional runs together and they proved, without a doubt, that they worked well together. Even Mr. Johnson found that working with them became easier. Boomer noted the same. He felt more secure now that he had found a group he could rely on during runs. He had high hopes that this cohesive team would remain, but the shadows always had the last say...
